Prof. T. V. Kattimani, a Hindi professor, served as the Vice-Chancellor of the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, and later of the Andhra Pradesh Central Tribal University, Vizianagaram. Although he retired from service in June 2025, he continues to serve on several Central Government committees, including the implementation committee of the National Education Policy (NEP).
His journey from a humble tribal hut to the highest ranks of higher education has been one of extraordinary perseverance and resilience. Born into an Adivasi family where hunger and poverty were constant companions, he grew up among parents and relatives who had never experienced the benefits of formal education.
